Background:

Blinatumomab은 이중특이적 T세포 결합 항체(Bispecific T-cell Engager, BiTE)로, 환자의 T세포(T cells)가 악성 B세포(malignant B cells)를 인식하도록 돕습니다. Blinatumomab 분자는 두 개의 결합 부위를 가지고 있으며, 하나는 T세포를 위한 CD3 결합 부위, 다른 하나는 표적 B세포를 위한 CD19 결합 부위이며, CD3는 T세포 수용체(T cell receptor)의 일부를 구성합니다.

Blinatumomab은 이 두 세포를 연결하여 T세포를 활성화시키고, 표적 세포에 대해 세포독성(cytotoxic) 작용을 유도합니다. 또한 CD3와 CD19는 소아 환자와 성인 환자 모두에서 발현되기 때문에, Blinatumomab은 소아 및 성인 환자 모두에게 적용 가능한 잠재적 치료 옵션으로 평가됩니다.
